What timber is used and is it suitable for outdoor use?

All timber frames and bases are made from pressure treated European redwood and are guaranteed against rot and fungal decay for 10 years. 

The timber notes are made from ipe.  Ipe is often referred to as one of the hardest woods known to man, Ipe will outlast most other hardwood timber on the market. It's rich and warm appearance is arguably the most attractive timber that exists.

An incredibly durable Brazilian Hardwood. Naturally resistant to fire, insects, moisture, and movement, this air dried hardwood is perfect for exterior commercial and residential applications such as decks or exterior furniture and now musical instruments!

It can be sealed to maintain its natural beauty or it can be allowed to weather to be a beautiful silver gray.
